Hey There! And Welcome!

Our mission is to cultivate a passion for agriculture and community within the next generation through a dynamic youth-driven livestock association. By emphasizing education, leadership, and collaboration, we strive to create meaningful opportunities that empower students to achieve their fullest potential while fostering strong connections between agriculture and the broader community.

All About Us

Our organization is the first of its kind! The BCLA is a dual-entity structure, which means we can provide more support to our amazing members across Bosque County. The main arm of the BCLA is the Bosque County Livestock Association, LLC. This is entity aligns with an L3c business model which is a for-profit business with non-profit goals. The other arm of our organization is the Bosque County Livestock Association Foundation. This entity is the 501(3)c division that allow us to purchase animals, provide add-ons, and more for our students! Learn about both entities below!

Bosque County Livestock Association, LLC

This division of our organization was derived from a simple idea that if we can put projects into the hands of students, and have them show those projects at Texas Major Stock Shows, they will have access to Major Stock Show Scholarships. This was an idea that began back in 2023 with a small group of students, a few involved parents and business, and a whole lot of rabbits!! This division of our organization is run by the Executive Director.

This idea has grown! Not only in size, but project type. The LLC was designed to fund Major Stock Show Projects such as livestock, horticulture, agriculture mechanics and more!

Objective:

  • The Bosque County Livestock Association, LLC will own and manage a registered herd of cattle that will produce show projects for members within our organization.

  • The Bosque County Livestock Association, LLC will lease the offspring of our herd to members to show and exhibit at Texas major stock shows.

  • The Bosque County Livestock Association, LLC will also reserve a fund to sponsor projects outside of livestock, such as agriculture mechanics projects, horticulture projects, or floral design projects.               *Note: Any project funded by the BCLA must adhere to strict guidelines*

Every member will be given a BCLA Bank Account. This is an inter-organizational way to keep track of expenses, build equity within the BCLA by earning money through fundraisers, career events, and more. The BCLA Bank Account can be cashed in at the Central Texas Youth Fair in the form of add-ons or rolled over to the next year. Any remaining balance in the BCLA Account by the time our members graduate will be rounded to the nearest whole dollar and given as a scholarship!

Bosque County Livestock Foundation

This Division is a 501(3)c non-profit organization that is the main driving force behind our mission. The BCLA Foundation allows us to raise money, sponsor projects, and further the educational growth of our members by sponsoring career related events.

What We Do:

✅ Educate & Inspire – We provide hands-on learning experiences, workshops, and mentorship programs for students interested in livestock management, agribusiness, and sustainable ranching.
✅ Support Youth Exhibitors – We assist 4-H, FFA, and FCCLA members by offering scholarships, financial aid for livestock projects, and sponsorship opportunities for local and national livestock shows.
✅ Strengthen Agricultural Communities – Through events, partnerships, and community outreach, we promote the importance of agriculture, responsible land stewardship, and livestock welfare.
✅ Provide Career Development Opportunities – We connect students with industry leaders, career fairs, and hands-on experiences to help them succeed in the agricultural field.

The BCLA Foundation purchases our members animals through the Premium Sale at the Central Texas Youth Fair that takes place during the first week of June. Using data-driven analytics, the BCLA Foundation calculates the amount that each individual member earns over the course of the year and applies that to their project. Just like a job in the real world, our members "clock-in and clock-out" of events, fundraisers, field trips, etc. and accrue time that is applied to their account. We have taken out the politics, objectiveness, and mystery behind each members participation. Amount Earned in the Sale is directly tied to the members effort over the course of the year. The more involved you are, the more you'll earn in the sale! We understand that everyone has busy lives! This is why, here at the BCLA, your membership is not contingent on participating in a certain number of events or raising a certain amount of dollars. Participate as much or a little as you want, and still earn!!
